Our company

FX Networks owns and operates a fibre optic backbone network throughout the North Island and also to Christchurch and Blenheim, with other PoPs in cities and towns around New Zealand (including Gisborne, Queenstown, Dunedin). The network capacity is 40Gbps, expanding to 100-300Gbps within two years.  Read more about our network. 

 
FX Networks Ltd is based in Wellington, with an office in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Napier, and Christchurch. The company is privately owned and funded, with 30% equity held by New Zealanders. We are independent from the telcos.

Our philosophy

Our business model is based on new technology and new thinking.

We don't try to be everything to everyone. We provide niche backbone services to a targeted set of customers, and we seek to provide the very best service possible coupled with a personal and flexible style.

We don’t try to lock in our customers. We will be judged on our merits, not the intricacies of our contracts. We deliver simple solutions – and encourage a competitive provider environment – by relying on a strong and committed network of business partners.
 
We use the best form of access networks available as the demand defines. We pride ourselves on being open and transparent in the way we provide service. We partner with regional ISPs to deliver service to their customers because we believe strongly that "local knowledge is best".
 
We don't intend to become an internet leviathan. We aim to remain a tightly focused service provider that consistently delivers its customers the best value for money service around.
